Privacy policy

In short

Sealkeep encrypts your files on your device. I never receive your files, file names, passwords, keyfiles or keys. The app has no analytics, advertising, crash reporting or tracking code and no account. The only data I process is what you need to buy and activate a licence, and any email you send me.

Who is responsible

The app

Vaults, settings and local state are stored on your devices and in the folders you choose. Vault contents are encrypted before they are written. Your sync service stores the encrypted vault under its own terms; it cannot read it, and neither can I.

Purchases and licences

Lemon Squeezy sells Sealkeep licences as merchant of record and processes your payment and billing details under its own privacy policy. I receive the order and subscription status and the email address you gave at checkout, for customer support, accounting and tax.

When you activate, refresh or deactivate a licence, the app sends your licence key, a random installation id created on your device, and the app version to the Sealkeep licensing service. The service checks the key with Lemon Squeezy and returns a signed lease. It keeps the activation record (key, installation id, dates) for as long as the licence is active and as long as tax and accounting law require afterwards. The installation id is not linked to your name, files or vaults. Legal basis: performance of the contract (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)) and legal obligations (Art. 6(1)(c)).

Support email

If you email me, I use your message and address only to answer you, and delete the conversation 24 months after it ends unless the law requires otherwise. Legal basis: your request (Art. 6(1)(b)) and my legitimate interest in answering (Art. 6(1)(f)). Email to sealkeep.eu addresses is forwarded by Cloudflare Email Routing.

This website

sealkeep.eu sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device, runs no analytics and loads nothing from other servers. It is served by Cloudflare, which processes technical data such as IP addresses to deliver the pages and protect them from attacks; I see only aggregate counts. Legal basis: legitimate interest in a secure website (Art. 6(1)(f)).

Your rights

You can ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your data, or object to processing, by emailing support@sealkeep.eu. You can complain to Malta’s Information and Data Protection Commissioner (IDPC, idpc.org.mt), or to the authority where you live.

Children

Sealkeep is not directed at children under 13.
